Proper facility maintenance benefits schools in various ways, from attracting students, staff, and donors to creating a barrier against communicable disease outbreaks. As cleaning is preventive maintenance, it ultimately saves time and money for often underfunded schools. In the past, many schools had dedicated training departments led by a qualified instructor to offer ongoing learning and certification. However, many of these departments have been dissolved, and training frequently falls on retirees who teach their replacements.
