What does it mean to be a professional chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) Soldier? It means being educated, trained, and experienced in our craft. Institutional training and unit experience are two ways to gain that professionalism, but we cannot rely on those methods alone. Our continuing competence as professional CBRN Soldiers also requires self-development, and professional reading is a centerpiece of any self-development program. Professional reading helps add critical detail and greater depth to the information that we learn at institutions and within our units.
