It's time again to prepare for summer and fall trade shows. If you are an experienced retailer, you may have read the trade show checklist before, but this preparation demands repeated notice. It can be used as a checklist for a quick reference and review. Your travel and hotel reservations should be completed well in advance of the show(s) you attend. Doing this early saves money and ensures that you will be at one of the show hotels that provide daily shuttle transportation to and from the event. You should receive your show packet(s) well in advance. Complete and return the preregistration form to avoid long lines on opening day. Choose and pay for the workshops, training programs and special events you want to attend. You can go online to obtain all the necessary information to get it done early, especially if you want your first choices on the workshops and events.
