I cringe when I see craft stores advertising product in newspaper ads. Women, our customer base, are not allured into craft stores by pictures of artificial flower bunches or packs of pretty paper alongside price-reduction notifications. In fact, either of these and other craft component parts can be misunderstood by anyone who is not a seasoned crafter. Unless you know what it takes to transform stray beads or unpainted wood pieces or flower stems into something attractive, that sort of ad works against inspiring someone to craft or visit a craft store. Product, especially ours, which consists of mostly naked component parts, ranks pretty near the bottom of what is exciting.
