摘要

Woven textiles are designed to meet the requirements of their end use. Their strength, thickness, extensibility, porosity and durability can be varied and depends on the weave used, the thread spacing, that is the number of threads per centimeter, and the raw materials (filament or staple), linear density and twist factors of the warp and weft yarns. From woven fabrics higher strengths and greater stability can be obtained than from any other fabric forming system using interlaced yarns. Structures can also be varied to produce fabrics with widely different properties in the warp and weft directions. The property of any fabric produced depends on the constituent fibres material, yarns and the fabric structure and how all these factors interact with each other. The ultimate aim of any apparel fabric is to satisfy the wearer and make him/her feel comfortable.
