THERE is no doubt that we are living in unprecedented times. Almost the whole of 2020 has been exposed to the vulnerable spot of society in a crucial way, and it is more important than ever for people to stay together (from a safe distance) and strive towards a harmonious relationship with the planet and all of its inhabitants. The textile industry has rightly come under scrutiny for these past few months, as people are becoming more aware of what exactly their hard-earned money is supporting and thus our job at Birla Century to connect with brands that truly care about their impact, is vital. Hence, we are leading the way by not only manufacturing textiles through a sustainable supply chain, but also supporting the health and restoration of this beautiful planet we call our home, introducing fabrics that give back to the community in these difficult times. The pandemic has majorly affected the Indian textile market, causing the orders to postpone, further leading to inventory build-up and monumenting expectation of slower realization of export receivables, leading to higher working capital requirements.
