摘要

Augmentation of inkjet digital textile printing has created new directions and challenges for textile designers and fashion designers. The urge to continuously create new ideas and visually stimulating identities in print design designers have continuously experimented with the printing technology in combination with creative design process. The design thinking is met with challenges of production as well as freedom of expression, however with use of inkjet digital printing technology the ease of production has opened up new doorways for designers to be able to find new expressions and meaning in textile print designs. It is also compelling the industry to generate commercial value through strategic planning and implementation of designs by integration of surface design and product development. As per Gardner "Print adds value; value that can be measured both economically and emotionally" (Gardner). This research paper explores the emerging design thinking adapted by designers to create newer directions for Inkjet digital textile print design process.
