摘要

In this era of consumers interested in green products and due to environmental regulations; natural dyes are regaining their lost importance as they give safe coloration property. Natural dyes are considered eco-friendly as these are renewable and biodegradable; are skin friendly and may also provide health benefits to the wearer. Although natural colours cannot substitute use of synthetic dyes completely, there is definitely increasing market for such complete eco-friendly dyed or printed materials. Therefore, in the present study, single as well as compound shades of Madder and Marigold are developed using only natural mordants (such as amla, harda and pomegranate rind) on 100% cotton and cotton/viscose blend fabrics and their fastness properties are studied.
