摘要

An attempt has been made to improve softness without loss in colour yield, by performing simultaneous biopolishing with cellulases and dyeing with reactive dyes. The samples obtained thereof have been compared with those obtained from the two step processes, i.e. a conventional process (dyeing followed by bio-polishing) and pre-treated process (bio-polishing followed by dyeing), in terms of colour yield, softness and crock fastness. Both neutral and acid cellulases have been employed for bio-polishing the samples. Experimental results clearly indicate better viability of the simultaneous process with neutral cellulase, as it gives comparable colour yield along with good softness, in addition to minimizing the water consumption as well as the process time as compared to the conventional 2-bath process of dyeing and bio-polishing.
