摘要

One of the prime harmful by-products of urban photochemistry is ozone, and it can attain dangerously high levels of 0.5 ppm with the help of Sun's UV rays, the interaction between oxygen (atmosphere), nitrogen oxide (pollution) and hydrocarbon (pollution) results into release of ozone (O_3) Ozone induced yellowing is a major problem on denims. This is due to the sun's UV radiation. The elevated concentration of Nox and Sox gases due to pollution can potentially react with ozone and reduce its concentration tremendously in the ozone layer (shield). As a consequence, a portion of the sun's UV radiation permeates to the earth's surface and generates ozone gas from the atmospheric oxygen. Ozone being very strong oxidant decomposes indigo in the following manner.
