The exports of readymade garments from Bangladesh surged by 26.13 percent year-on-year during the first month of the ongoing Bangladeshi fiscal year 2013-14, according to the data released by the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). During the month, Bangladesh exported US$ 2.51 billion worth of garments, including woven apparel and knitwear, compared to US$ 1.99 billion worth of exports made during the corresponding month of last fiscal. Woven garment exports soared by 27.02 percent year-on-year to earn US$ 1.26 billion for Bangladesh, while knitwear exports jumped 25.24 percent year-on-year to fetch US$ 1.25 billion, during the month, EPB data showed.
