There has been a significant development which has been seen in the use of symmetrical bisazo reactive dyes in dyes and pigment industry. Many derivatives of this type were proved to be excellent dyes with remarkable fastness properties. The goal of this paper is to provide a general overview of the field of symmetrical bisazo dyes and pigment chemistry.
