A half-day seminar organised by the SDC covered the importance of automation and optimization to the textile industry in western India and the challenges facing the textile industry, especially with reference to quality improvement and cost competitiveness.The Society of Dyers and Colourists, India (SDC India) organized a seminar titled 'Colouring Textiles 2020: automate, optimize or perish!' on 15th March, 2012. Colouring Textiles 2020 at Hotel Satkar Residency in Thane. This event was the third in the series of seminars planned by the SDC to get closer to the textile clusters. Colouring Textiles was well attended, with over 175 delegates (primarily from the Bhiwandi textile cluster) registering for the event.
