The Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA) has hailed the Vision Tamilnadu 2023 released by the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu recently which sets a target of 11% GSDP and make an investment of Rs 15 lakh crore for infrastructure and other development activities by 2023.Mr. S. Dinakaran, Chairman, SIMA stated that Tamilnadu textile industry being the backbone of the State's economy accounting for l/3rd of the textile business of the Nation, providing direct employment to over 50 lakh people, would be the major beneficiary out of the various schemes announced in the Vision Tamilnadu 2023.
