Yarn production is likely to grow 6.8 per cent this fiscal due to healthy demand from apparel companies and fabric manufacturers, says an industry report. "Demand for yarn from fabric manufacturers and apparel companies is expected to be healthy on the back of festive season. Total yarn production is expected to increase 6.8 per cent this fiscal, with cotton yarn output growing 10 per cent, and synthetic yarn 3 per cent," the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) said in its monthly report. It forecasts that fabric production growing over 7 per cent for the fiscal on the back of increased cotton fabric output.
