Although Myanmar is investing in a huge new port to attract the global buyers, Bangladesh readymade garment (RMG) exporters do not face any challenge from the neighboring country. Mr. Nasir Uddin Chowdhary, first vice-president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), told fibre2fashion, "Myanmar is still a new destination for the apparel buyers in the international market so we are not going to face any challenge from them." "Myanmar lacks skilled workers in the garment industry and entrepreneur-ship is yet to be established in the country," he adds.
