The dyeing and allied industries are one of the most vibrant industrial sectors in Hong Kong as well as the Greater Pearl River Delta region. Fong's National Engineering Co., Ltd. (Fong's) has been serving these industries by providing efficient equipments and leading edge processing technologies at low cost. In view of many challenges in the rapidly changing global environment, a systematic, interdisciplinary collaborative research effort in the form an institute between Fong's and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is highly beneficial in the pursuit of knowledge and advanced technologies.
