Processing of textiles involves use of a wide range of auxiliaries at different stages to get the product of the desired quality. Use of wetting agents in the processing liquor and printing pastes coupled with the faster movement of fabrics cause extensive agitation which results in the formation of foam or froth. Foam creates problems in the application of dyes and finishing auxiliaries applied by exhaust as well as padding methods.
