The rs 40,000 crore textile sector in the city is passing through tough times. The reason is increase in number of cases of cheating, fraud and insolvency. Traders are facing acute financial crisis due to continuous cases of liquidation and non-payment of dues from buyers. In the last three months alone more than 80 traders and dealers have declared insolvency and fled after closing their shops. According to experts, the textile sector loses Rs 100-150 crore annually due to various fraudulent practices.
