UNO has dec lured the Year 2009 as International Year of Natural Fibres with an objective to raise awareness and stimulate the demand for natural fibres and to foster an effective and enduring international partnership among various natural fibre industries. Responding to the above call the Indian Society for Cotton Improvement (ISCI) under the auspices of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in collaboration with Indian Fibre Society (IFS) and Texas Tech University, Texas, USA hasrnorganized a three day International conference on "Emerging trends in Production, Processing and Utilization of Natural Fibres" in Murnbai during 16-18 April, 2009.
