摘要

The goal of this paper is to provide a general overview of the field of reactive dye chemistry. To achieve this goal, the authors summarize a significant number of references, cover some areas that have not been widely reviewed before, and describe some advantages and limitations of reactive dyes. It is envisaged that the reader will recognize opportunities to make contributions to a field that is mature yet still developing, and be inspired to undertake research leading to improvements needed in this important family of dyes. In addition, it is hoped that potential applications outside the traditional use of reactive dyes for textiles will come to mind and be pursued.
