Chemical reactions In THPOH preparation and in its finish formation; THPOH flame retardant processing steps for cotton fabrics - solvent or aqueous padding liquors; effects of padding liquor parameters on the finish and its durability. Ha ving introduced THPOH as a better and safer flame retarding agent than THPC for cotton in the last installment, Dr. G. P. Nair now looks at the chemistry of its formation and its action as a flame retarding agent. He also describes, in this installment, studies on its application onto two types of cotton fabrics. The effects of different padding liquor conditions on the flame retardant finish and its durability aimed at arriving at ideal padding conditions, are also covered in this installment.
