Prameet Kamat, part of the Application Research team at Resil Chemicals, explores the basics of sewing thread finishing in the second segment of this two-part article. The first segment concerned sewing thread lubrication, was published in the January 2004 issue. In the first part of this article, titled "Basics of Sewing Thread Lubrication," it was established that sewing thread lubrication assumes critical importance due to the properties that the lubricating agent imparts to the sewing thread. Let us now take a closer look at how sewing thread lubrication can be evaluated for effectiveness.
