In the present study the wool fabric was treated with three proteolytic enzymes pepsin, papain and trypsin-The effect of enzymatic treatment on the dye absorption percent of the wool fabric dyed with acid, basic, reactive and natural dyes was studied. It was observed that enzymatic treatment resulted in a significant increase of dye uptake per cent of wool fabric with slight improvement in its colour fastness properties.
