摘要

With the increasing use of knitted fabrics in high fashion trade of garments, the demand for dyed knitting yarns appears to be rising. The dyed yarn to be used in multicoloured, patterned garments must possess the fastness properties of very high order. This requirement dictates the choice of dyes and the technology of their applications. The fabric after knitting with multicoloured yarns even may be subjected to mercerisation process in case of high priced goods. The dyeing of yarns in packaged forms has many advantages including those of high productivity due to available automations, along with good reproducibil-ity of shades.
