The previous three Textile Processing Sci-Tech columns published in the last three issues of COLOURAGE have dealt with, respectively on the commercial aspects, the finish development and the mechanism of action as well as a novel method for enhancing the durability to washing of flame retardant cotton sarees. In this column, Dr. G. P. Nair investigates the applicability of the new flame retardant finish to other sorts of cotton fabrics, finish durability towards soda bleach and dry cleaning solvents, the best add-on levels and its importance from the environmental angle.
