A Seminar on "Geo-synthetics -Emerging Opportunities in India" was organised by The Synthetic & Art Silk Mills' Research Association (SASMIRA) in Mumbai on 7th and 8th July 2000. The Seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, leader of the opposition, legislative council, Maharashtra, on the first day while technical sessions of the seminar were held on the next day.
