摘要

Predicting feel, handle, appearance and tailorability of fabrics by objective measurement of low stress mechanical properties of fabrics has been discussed in the earlier two articles by Sule and Bardhan. There are primarily two systems for doing so. The first is KES-F system of Kawabata that is very accurate and elaborate in predicting feel, handle and appearance of fabrics. The other is FAST of CSIRO, Australia that is simple and predicts tailorability of fabrics adequately, though it does not predict or define feel and handle of fabrics. Both the systems have been elaborately described by the authors.
