The description of the Paladin scoring system is outlined in my column each month. It is very simple and flexible, so the shooter is forced to make quick decisions on how to solve the problem in the scenario context. In most cases the scenarios are simple and straightforward, and as realistic as possible, given the limitations of safety on the range. The shooter may solve the problem any way he wishes, instead of the range officer telling him what to do, so long as what he does is safe, and basic simple tactics are followed.
