This special issue of combustion and Flame focuses on combustion experiments in micro- gravity. Microgravity experiments are per- formed during free fall in terrestrial laborato- ries (i.e., drop towers and aircraft flying parabolic trajectories), in sub-orbital sounding rockets, or in spacecraft that orbit the earth (i.e., the space shuttle and Mir).
