UK banks achieved the biggestreduction in card fraud losses lastyear among 18 countries acrossEurope, according to the updatedFICO European Fraud Map.More than half of the countries sawincreases in card fraud losses in2019 according to the report,based on data from EuromonitorInternational and UK Finance.“Following a frustrating increase in2018 - largely caused by anexplosion of data compromise‘bust out’ events - much of Europehas once again turned the tide onfraudsters, achieving a combined2 percent overall reduction,” saidToby Carlin, director of fraudconsulting in EMEA at FICO.
