摘要

African Americans in Television: Behind the Scenes explores television and race from the perspec tive of industry writers, producers, directors, and exec utives. Adamo uses the qualitative method of inter views to explore "how African American workers see themselves in the production process" (p. 12). Adamo argues that listening to those directly involved in bring ing diversity to television helps uncover the process whereby difference is created and recreated both in the workplace and on the television screen. The book chap ters are primarily organized around emergent themes from the series of interviews.
