摘要

Contributing to the rapidly expanding body of scholarly work on "reality TV", Trans-Reality Television certainly succeeds in carving out a place for itself in the extant literature. In doing so, it warrants careful consideration from scholars taking an interest in the "reality TV" phenomenon per se, or in the complex entanglement of media (institutions and representations), culture, politics and society broadly. The book assembles a richly variegated (predominantly European) scholarship in terms of topic, perspective, and approach within a coherent (critical) social theoretical framework.
