Eq. (17) of Shen [1] does not satisfy the periodicity condition for circumferentially closed cylindrical shells for non-integer k. The expressions for the evaluation of k given therein do not guarantee integer values. This may be one of the reasons for poor comparison. However, a good comparison has been claimed. It is very much desired that the self-validation of results should have been done at least with 2D FEM which does not involve a priori approximation of mode shape. The present results obtained using semi-analytical finite element [2] and 2D finite element [3] along with the results of Shen [1], Tabiei and Simitses [4], Park et al. [5] and Meyer-Piening et al.
