摘要

Material damping of laminates is determined analytically by the strain energy weighted dissipation method and experimentally by the half-power bandwidth method for cantilever beam specimens excited with an impulse excitation. Data reduction and ac- quisition are conducted using both an IBM PC-AT and a GenRad 2500 series Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analyser. Unidi- rectional continuous fiber 0~o and 90~o laminates were fabricated from graphite/epoxy (Hercules AS4/3501-6) to examine the effect of transverse shear as a function of aspect ratio (length/thickness) on the damping of composites.
