In this paper, a mechanical impedance method was set up to investigate the dynamic response of delaminated honeycomb structures which were made of two layers of thin aluminium skins and a Nomex honeycomb core. Finite element analysis was also employed to simulate the dynamic response of the honeycomb structures. The predicted results, both numerical and experimental, are presented. A comparison study was carried out for results obtained from both methods. The influences of different boundary conditions, as well as different delamination (disbond) sizes, of the structures on the predictions were discussed. Conclusions on the influences of skin thickness on the amplitude parameters were also reported.
