摘要

In this paper, free vibration analysis of non-uniform sandwich beams with an elastic core is investigated. For the analysis, the element-free Galerkin (EFG) method and Galerkin formulation for two-dimensional elasticity problems are considered. The EFG method is one of the popular meshless methods. The penalty method is used for modeling the interface between the face sheets and the core in the sandwich beam. To free vibration analysis of non-uniform beams, a mathematical model has been presented. Using the similarity of materials for the face sheets and core, applicability of the model is tested. To show the accuracy of the presented mathematical modeling in respect to the numerical method, the results for uniform and non-uniform elastic beams have been compared with investigations. Then, the first ten natural frequencies of a non-uniform sandwich beam with an elastic core using the EFG and finite element methods has been calculated, good agreement has been demonstrated.
