It's hard to get away from so-called 'smart' assistants these days. These voice-activated tools are on your PC, your smartphone, your home speaker system and, sometimes, even your TV. Ⅰ can see the potential for voice commands - it's a more natural way of interacting with devices and can offer benefits to people with disabilities. The trouble is that the technology just isn't there yet. At best, it's gimmicky. At worst, it's exasperating, intrusive and mostly pointless.
