Dell has released a second emergency security update for its laptops to fix a flaw with its SupportAssist tool, which is meant to help users solve problems. In April it fixed a vulnerability in SupportAssist after an independent security researcher found that hackers could infiltrate it to take over computers. This has now been followed by another fix after US-Israeli security company SafeBreach found a flaw that puts "multiple laptops" at risk of attack. The flaw exists in a component of SupportAssist called PC-Doctor, made by a Nevada company of the same name. Dell said that more than 90 per cent of its customers have received the update, which was released in late May, and are "no longer at risk".
