Amonth after the April 2018 Update was released, around 54 per cent of Windows 10 computers were running it. A month after the May 2019 Update was released, it had been installed on only 6.5 per cent (according to analysis by AdDuplex: www.snipca. com/32033). Does this mean people are avoiding it? Or is there something more intriguing happening? To answer that question, we need to go back to May 2018, and recall how the month-old April Update was crashing PCs, breaking webcams, blocking access to SSDs and freezing browsers. It was a total mess. Ever since Windows 10 launched in 2015, Microsoft has tried to persuade users it was the last their files. Folders packed with precious photos, videos and documents - all gone.
