Darktable is a powerful image organiser and enhancer that rival's Adobe's expensive Lightroom alternative (see p51 for more on Lightroom, including how to get a free trial). Although primarily designed to enhance RAW images (a lossless format more commonly used by high-end digital cameras), there's nothing to stop you using Darktable to catalogue and improve other image formats, including JPEG and TIFF.
