The British Army has created its first cyber-regiment to fight off digital attacks. The 13th Signal Regiment, based in Blandford, Dorset, will create a "digital armour" around soldiers, allowing them to operate online securely, both at home and overseas. It will work with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force to provide secure networks for military communications, preventing enemy agents from hacking them. The specialist unit will comprise around 250 servicemen and women who possess "relevant high-end technical skills". Defence Secretary Ben Wallace described the move as "a step-change in the modernisation of the UK Armed Forces for information warfare".
