EBay has banned people reselling the ceramic poppies that have been seen by millions of visitors at the Tower of London. AU 888,246 poppies, one for every British and Commonwealth serviceman killed in World War 1, were sold in August for £25 each within a week of going on sale, with all proceeds going to armed forces charities. EBay acted after people started re-selling the poppies for more than double the original price, plus £10 for postage. The site removed the listings, and said it had set up a system that would automatically take down any others that appeared.
