Virgin Media has announced it is to launch a 100 Mbrts/ sec broadband service by the end of 2010. The internet service provider (ISP) has not yet announced who will get the service first but it planned to choose a number of regions to start with and expects to finish the process by the end of 2011. The new speed is designed for tech-sawy users, according to Virgin, who will be able to download a music album in as little as five seconds, an hour-long TV show in 31 seconds and a high-definition movie in seven minutes and 25 seconds.
