On 14 January I bought an extension adapter from Safield Distribution, a marketplace seller on Amazon. I found it to be unsuitable for the purpose I had in mind. Within two days I arranged to return the adapter for a full refund. However, this retailer has only refunded me the cost of the adapter and not the original delivery charge of £4.99. When I queried this I was told that as the item was unwanted rather than damaged, the retailer was not liable to return the postage costs "as we have been charged by the Royal Mail to send the item."
