For the average user, cooling is an issue that is seldom raised. The heatsinks provided with every new PC usually provide adequate heat dissipation even in the most demanding applications. Problems do arise, however, when enthusiasts attempt to overclock their components in order to yield better performance. This process generates substantially more heat than some devices were designed to withstand. Those of you with a fundamental knowledge of physics will know that, in most materials, as heat increases, there is a greater level of resistance and vibration in molecules: two factors that can affect the reliability and lifespan of your components.
