摘要

Construction Automation and Robotics is a multidisci-plinary discipline focused on improving the efficiency of life cycle of construction projects through rationalization by robotics and automation. A wide range of technologies have been adapted to solve various problems in this area. They include technologies such as image processing, artificial intelligences, web-based communication, sensing, and robotics. This special issue of Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering (CACAIE) focuses on recent developments in the area. In response to the call for papers, 17 submissions were received from researchers. All papers submitted were subject to a rigorous review process. Each paper was reviewed initially by three to seven reviewers. Subsequent rereviews were done by the respective reviewers and eventually five papers that met the high standards of the journal were selected for publication in this issue resulting in an acceptance rate of 29%. Papers submitted by guest editors were handled by the Editor-in-Chief and underwent the same review process.
