As international governments plan how to respond to an electronic war, the US Airforce declares how it wants to rule cyberspace. The US Airforce has announced its intention to dominate cyberspace for military gain. It has described cyberspace as a "warfighting domain" to be controlled in the same way as land, sea, air and space. The Airforce Cyber Command Strategic Vision document sets out plans for a dedicated cyber command unit, which will be in full action by 2009. "Mastery of cyberspace is essential to America's national security," says the report. "Securing our nation's critical infrastructure will increasingly depend upon effective cyberspace operations and exploitation of cyber technology."
