摘要

To highlight some of the outstanding surround audio, multimedia work, and new musical controllers being created by members of the computer music community, the editors of Computer Music Journal decided to issue a two-hour DVD-Video disc to accompany Volume 27. The disc is playable on any DVD-equipped computer or commercial home-theater DVD player, and the built-in Dolby Digital decoder found on most home-theater audio amplifiers will allow many of the works to be heard in 5.1 surround (Left, Center, Right, Left Surround, Right Surround, Low-Frequency Effects). When listening to surround-encoded works over stereo playback, Dolby Digital will automatically downmix the audio tracks to two channels. The disc consists of two parts: a curated portion of invited compositions and a compendium of sound examples to accompany articles in Volume 27.1 produced this compilation at my home studio in Homestead, Florida during June and July 2003.
