Being able to rapidly respond to the changing demands of the market is vital in a challenging economy where competitiveness and efficiency are key to many organisations' survival. "It is incredibly important to be flexible and ensure that your organisation has built in dynamic optimisation so the processes you have today can be different tomorrow and reflect the changing needs of the business," says Clive Longbottom, service director at analyst Quocirca. Companies aiming to create a flexible environment need to look at their whole IT asset and platform with a view to rationalisation, and harnessing virtualisation technologies.
